Thank you to everyone who joined CRIN at the Emissions Reduction Theatre during Global Energy Show Canada in Calgary from June 9th to 11th, and a warm welcome to all our new members!
It was wonderful to see standing-room-only crowds at the event space we co-hosted with the Methane Emission Leadership Alliance and the Trade Commissioner Service. We also had many inspiring conversations with conference attendees at the CRIN booth.
Events held on Day 1 at the Emissions Reduction Theatre included a panel discussion about Methane Emissions Technology Solutions, a keynote address from Alberta Minister of Environment and Protected Areas, Rebecca Schulz, who announced the launch of phase one of the Alberta Drilling Accelerator program, technology showcases from Synergraze and Scovan, and an event focused on youth innovation featuring MindFuel and University of Calgary students from the Chimera Research group.
Day 2 of the show featured the exciting Energize Innovation Challenge, hosted by BBA Consultants, which saw teams pair up with innovators, tackle a series of tasks on the exhibition floor, and deliver pitches about the innovators' technologies. This challenge even prompted a new collaboration between two innovators!
Justin Riemer, CEO of Emissions Reduction Alberta, moderated a discussion with experts from Aqua Pure Technologies and Artis Exploration Ltd. about the PROH2O® Technology. Audiences also heard about Ambyint’s AI-powered production optimization platform and from a panel of experts about methane mitigation and reduction.
The afternoon included an event highlighting opportunities in Saudi Arabia, as well as a Women in Energy panel discussion with Nannette Ho-Covernton, Dani Hansen, Julie Wiseman, and Marianna Trujillo exploring financial tools, emerging innovations, and the power of cross-sector collaboration.
Day 3 featured a well-attended event on U.S.-Canada energy relations, a panel focused on Nigeria’s sustainability journey, a discussion with Ovintiv Canada and Kathairos Solutions on methane reduction strategies, a Spartan Controls technology showcase, and a discussion on the latest developments in Alberta’s emissions reduction policy landscape.
It was truly inspiring to see such a diverse range of solutions and conversations; we look forward to continuing these collaborations!
