Energy Futures Lab, TMX Group, Evok Innovations, and Leor Rotchild hosted a day of exciting programming at the Energy Transition Centre in Calgary on Thursday, November 26, on the third day of Canada Climate Week Xchange.
The morning kicked off with an Energy Futures Lab and TMX Group panel discussion and workshop exploring how Western Canada can strengthen its role in the critical minerals value chain and build climate and carbon competitiveness.
The hybrid session featured:

In the afternoon, Erin Madro of Evok Innovations led an engaging climate innovation panel featuring three of Canada’s leading clean technology founders developing breakthrough technologies to tackle decarbonization challenges.
Some of the discussion topics included the founders’ origin stories, how they expanded and formed partnerships and connections, their approach to bringing team members on board to a startup, and how to foster a company culture.
The panelists were:
Mina Zarabian, founder of Carbonova: Combining CO2 + methane into high-performance carbon nanomaterials.

Next up at the ETC, Leor Rotchild announced the official launch of Calgary Climate Week 2026, a new event scheduled for June 1 to 6.
“This is our opportunity to create a city-wide collaboration like Calgary knows how to do,” he said. “It’s an opportunity to inspire imagination, to accelerate solutions…and to invite conversations, partners, and investors from all around the world to help us lean into our full potential.”
The day concluded with a Toronto Stock Exchange Market close ceremony, spotlighting Western Canada's capital market and climate innovation leadership.
