    ARA Toolkit Launch - eventbrite

Attraction, Retention, and Advancement of Young Professionals in Energy Toolkit

Talent4Energy has released its Attraction, Retention, and Advancement of Young Professionals in Energy Toolkit.

The toolkit was launched after YP Link, a collective of five energy-focused young professional groups, approached Talent4Energy to develop a process for engaging with young professionals. CRIN provided financial support for this work, which included the Newtonian Shift business strategy gaming workshop facilitated by the Energy Futures Lab; workshops with young professionals; and a roundtable discussion.

The document outlines 12 actions energy companies can take to attract and retain young talent. For example, recommended steps include:

    • Convey honest, clear, and consistent messaging about the industry’s role in energy security and long-term energy mix.

    • Promote more open, inclusive, and transparent hiring processes to improve access to career opportunities for external applicants.

    • Outline pathways for career advancement.

    • Invest in leadership development.

    • Actively involve young professionals in projects, strategy discussions, and decision-making processes.

    • Promote diversity in leadership positions.

    • Prioritize sustainability goals alongside profitability.

    • Provide promotions and career development based on capability and performance.

The toolkit also highlights promising practices already in place, as well as resources for further information.

We highly recommend you explore this extensive toolkit! You can find it via this link.
